We had a real life fairy tale at our house this weekend. My daughter turned five, and we celebrated fairy-style. Each girl received fairy wings and a garland wreath for her hair, and we made tulle fairy skirts and (monogrammed, of course!) fairy wands.
One of my favorite things from the party was the topiary-like floral ball that we hung from the chandelier. My five year old crafted this on her own, and it looked just lovely.
We just took a styrofoam ball and poked in the buds that I clipped off of some silk flowers. We stuck in some greenery off of the flowers, too. Once the ribbon was secured with a bobby pin, we were ready to go. Thanks to the suggestion from a good friend, we're going to hang it in her room now that the party's over.
